From installation to first upload

This walkthrough covers the core steps required to get a functional integration running in the browser: loading the bundle, confirming user authentication, and streaming a file directly to Ingest.

1. Load the SDK bundle

Include the classic SDK script tag in your HTML before your application code:

This exposes the window.I6Sdk constructor globally on the page.

2. Ensure an active session

Instantiate the SDK and invoke requireUser() to validate the cookie session. If no active session exists, the browser automatically redirects to the platform login page:

The SDK automatically reports the current page in backurl when redirecting to login — this is not something you need to configure. See Login flow for more details.

3. Capture the file and upload with Ingest

Read a file selected through an <input type="file"> element and pass it to upload() along with the target dataset and partitions:

The SDK requests a signed upload URL from the platform and streams the file directly to storage infrastructure.

4. What to verify on error

If an upload or authentication step fails:

• Confirm that your page origin is allowed for credentialed CORS by the platform.
• Ensure the file parameter is a valid browser File instance.
